The property, listed on the National Register of Historic Places was originally called Richlawns, an 800 acre farm built by Ralph Barker in 1923. The Highland House is furnished in turn of the century style with many antiques, and the 5 acres of gardens complete with walking paths and secluded benches complement its setting on the banks of the Ohio River. Highland House Bed & Breakfast is located on the outskirts of Carrollton, Kentucky, a historic town at the confluence of the Ohio and Kentucky Rivers.
